Kevin Mawae Blackballed – Owners Vs. Union Conspiracy?
Kevin Mawae is a free agent, and he’s not quite sure why. Mawae was a pro-bowl center in the 2009 Pro-Bowl. Granted, he was a backup. But still to be one of the best 6 centers in the league, he is puzzles why he hasn’t even received a single call from a team. Mawae is also the NFL Players Association President. And the owners and the players both want more money in the collective bargaining agreement that must be completed by next year to avoid a lockout.
Mawae not so subtly suggests the NFL owners may be using this as a battlefront for the new CBA. These were Mawae’s comments from a radio interview and put in a story on ESPN.com:
“I am unemployed and hoping someone will call,” Mawae, 39, told “3 Hour Lunch” on 104.5 in Nashville. “It’s kind of befuddling to me that I just came off my eighth Pro Bowl and a 16-game season and I can’t get one phone call. Continue reading
LenDale White Reunited With Carroll In Seattle Via Trade
Pete Carroll and LenDale White have been reunited in Seattle. The Seahawks picked up LenDale in a trade, along with defensive tackle Kevin Vickerson for a 4th round pick and a 6th round pick. But they also got back the Titans 4th and 6th rounders, so all they did was swap picks. Not bad considering LenDale white has been a bruising goal line and short yardage back for the Titans, and went in the second round of the draft to Tennessee in 2006 out of USC. He would have gone higher, but showed up to workouts 30 lbs overweight.
In 2007 White had 1100 yards rushing and 7 TDs. In 2008 he had 800 yards and 15 TDs. Last season, running along Chris Johnson, White only had 222 yards and 2 TDs. He also has some attitude issues, once spitting in the face of teammate and safety Donnie Nickey.
Jason Campbell Traded to Raiders, Contract Extended
Jason Campbell has been traded to the Oakland Raiders from the Washington Redskins, who apparently ARE going to admit that Jamarcus Russell is garbage at QB. Now they gave up a 4th round pick for Campbell, which nis definitely worth it. But not a 4th rounder this year, and not a 4th rounder in the 2011 draft, but a 4th rounder in the 2012 draft! What a steal, that would essentially be the same worth as a 7th rounder this year, for a guy that can come in and play the position immediately. The Redskins continue to blow the draft process at a whole getting almost nothing for a good QB, but they definitely did Campbell a favor (even though its the raiders) with McNabb taking over the starting job.
The Oakland Raiders also extended Jason Campbell for another year on his contract. He will make 3.1 million in 2010 and he was extended 1 year for 4.5 million in 2011.
Jason Campbell has increased his QB rating, completion % and TD/INT ratio every year for three years, all with different offenses.
Crazy New Roethlisberger Case Details
Yesterday, it was announced that no charges for sexual assault would be filed against Ben Roethlisberger of the Steelers, citing “Not enough evidence to convict”.
Well since this, details of the case have just been pouring out, and it looks bad, real bad for Big Ben. I’d say worse than the Kobe Bryant rape case, by far.
The main source of evidence would have been the dozen cameras in the club. The footage was “taped over”, even though the club had been immediately asked to turn the footage over. Anyways, listen to these new tidbits from the case:

- Friends of Ben Roethlisberger‘s accuser say the NFL star’s bodyguards and the club owner refused to let them help their friend as she was allegedly being raped … this according to documents obtained from the Milledgeville Police Department.
- According to the court documents, witnesses told police they saw Ben’s bodyguard escort the alleged victim to a backroom where the tiny bathroom was located — and Ben followed shortly after.
- One of the accuser’s friends told police she approached Ben’s bodyguard and “told him that [the alleged victim] was in no shape to be back there with Ben.” The friend said she tried to open the bathroom door but it was locked, “and the security guards acted like they had no idea what was going on.” Continue reading
Jerry Jones Dissing Parcell & Tebow, on Phone Camera (Video)
Jerry Jones got drunk and started talking to some fans at the bar while they were recording him on one of their camera phones. The video is a pretty low quality video hosted by ESPN on youtube, but it’s defeinitely worth a watch and it’s pretty funny.
Wehn Jones was asked by the fans if the Jaguars would draft Tebow just to sell jersey’s he replied: “That’s the only reason I brought in [Bill] Parcells.” Followed by “Bill’s not worth a s***. I love him… But he isn’t worth a ****.”
On Tebow, when asked if he would take Tebow in the thrid round, he said: “WHY? I couldn’t get him on the field…” (amongst laughter) “I can’t get him out there.”
